Requirements for Tennessee Real Estate Licensing
- Hours Required: 90
- Approval: Our school is approved by the Tennessee Real Estate Commission to offer the 90-hours of real estate pre-license courses. Our provider number is 1640.
- Reporting: We report your completed course information to the Tennessee Real Estate Commission.
- Certification of Completion: You will be provided with a certificate upon completion of the licensing course, which you can print immediately. The certification will include:
- your name
- the completion date
- the course or approval number
- the course name
- the course hours
- Time Constraints: There is no time limit on when you need to complete the state exam or apply for your license. However, after passing the state exam you must affiliate your license with a real estate firm within 6 months or retire the license.

You can take the 30 hour course either before or after you take the state exam. However you must successfully complete the 60 hour course before you can begin the 30 hour course. And you must complete both the 60 hour course and 30 hour course in order to apply for your license with the Tennessee Real Estate Commission.
All applicants for a Tennessee Affiliate Broker license must fulfill the following requirements:

In order to renew your real estate license, you must complete 16 hours of continuing education. Mandatory Tennessee Real Estate Commission Core classes encompass six of the mandatory hours, and the remaining 10 hours may be electives.
Submitting your renewal application will cost $80. After 60 days of the grace period, you will also be charged with $50 every 30 days late.
Make sure to complete your coursework before your real estate license expires, which is every two years. If your real estate license becomes inactive because it has not been renewed, you will be unable to practice as a real estate agent. You will need to activate your license again.
